Welfare and Government

Alright we are living in a time of ever expanding welfare.  The welfare state is so screwed up you qualify for more welfare if you are already on another welfare program.  Case in point is if you are food stamps you can get a government supported cell phone with several hundred "free" minutes, "free" texting, and "free" long distance.  Freebies all around them and the government continues to hook people on the handouts with more handouts if you are already on handouts.  Wow must be great to have no motivation to get a job because the more you get the more you qualify for.

Here is the thing that people don't realize that is going on.  Our government does not really care if you are poor or not.  Let's be honest if they did they would give you basics like food to make sure you do not go hungry and give you food directly and not a EBT card.  The EBT card that people use in some cases to get cash for them.  Once you give someone something and do not check up on them anymore things can get out of control.  Crab legs on EBT?  My family doesn't eat that good.  Buying junk food on EBT and not eating healthy on my taxpayer money is insulting.  Not only that when their health declines I have to pay for the Medicaid because they did not take care of themselves.

Driving through town and seeing satellite dishes in the government housing is insulting.  You mean you can't afford housing and need taxpayer subsidized housing, but you can afford satellite t.v.?   Sounds legit right?  My wife and I work hard and when I say hard we have our regular full time jobs and own our own business also.  We work to provide for our family, but it seems that people are o.k. to take handouts while my family gets robbed by I.R.S. gunpoint.

If you have a car or even a car payment for that matter and you are on food stamps that is theft from the taxpayer.  You can afford a car, but you can't feed you or your family?  I have to call that out and say stop the fraud.  Another fraud is people on Medicaid when they do not take responsibility by having more children than they can not afford.  Having children out of wedlock and continuing to get child tax credits for having more of them and not having any intention of giving them a decent life other than government welfare is wrong.  No matter the race of the person it is happening everywhere.  Let's face it we are all humans and people are people and there are people that are out to take from the government and could care less about you or me.

It is time to fix the welfare state in this country.  Get rid of the fraud and make people earn what they get.  Allowing people to get handouts with no intention of getting a job or getting off welfare.  Why would they want out of it to be honest.  The government has continued to make it easier to get more handouts be staying exactly where you are at by being poor and dependent on the kindness of the government.  The government is not your friend and this nation was not founded on handouts.  We have allowed this to happen by electing
people that care about power and not people.  The government handout is not compassion it is economic slavery and if we don't vote out the enablers and turn this around very soon we will see the implosion of our economy under the weight of welfare.

Our charities, non-profits, and churches are going to suffer as the government continues to tax more people to fund this welfare state.  The food banks and soup kitchens are going to be pushed harder as the middle class and even rich are hit harder with more taxes and regulations to deal with.  Soon the government will push them out of business so the government will have less competition.  We have to face it the government does not like competition so just regulate it and tax it out of business.

Is it Time to Reinvent the GOP?

The question after the loss in the 2012 Presidential election is that is it time to reinvent the GOP?  Many people in the media are saying the the Republican Party needs to change with the times.  I agree in a way with this and have thought of this for a long time. In order to win elections you need a majority of the votes in the election to win right?  So it's time to get more people in the Republican Party and time to change leadership to make that happen.

The leadership of the Republican Party tow the social issue line on abortion and while I do not support it this social issue turns people away even though you may agree on most of the issues in our country.  While abortion is seen as something that is terrible to many Americans and even other Americans may not agree with it, but are not willing to try to overturn Roe v. Wade because women will try to get abortions even if it is against the law.  It should be safe for women that get them even though you do not agree with it.

I have a view on this and many Americans may have the same view, but are not as willing to say it.  While I do not support abortion and it is legal at this time women that have this procedure done have to answer to their God at the end of their lives.  We have free will in our lives and if someone chooses that option then they will have to live with that decision for the rest of their lives.  While the Republican Party is talking about overturning the decision by the Supreme Court it scares people to the Democrats because of this social issue.  Let us practice our religion and our beliefs, but not scare away people that are fiscally conservative and want to be on our side if it was not for this issue.  In addition our tax payer money should not be used for abortion since that is an elective procedure.

The Republican Party needs to do a better job selling conservative economic values and the value or work.  If conservatives want to get the government out of the welfare business we need to get more involved in our communities so the government is not needed to prop up millions of people.  Republicans have for decades allowed the government to expand the welfare state and have not spoken up to get churches, non profits, and charities more involved in taking care of social issues at the local community level.  Many politicians either want their name on a building, a piece of legislation, or be popular rather than doing the tough job of keeping our country out of a nanny welfare state that will eventually collapse our economy.

The Republican Party needs to be more welcoming to gays and lesbians.  I know this may be a shocker to many people, but you probably know a gay or lesbian, but they have not come out yet.  It is time to be welcoming to these people and treat them as Americans instead of a sexual preference.  In regards to gay marriage I do not thing gay marriage should be in this nation and I will explain why.  Marriage was created as a religious institution and should remain that way.  The government started to adopt it and started to make money on it with fees and taxing it.  If you get married that should be in religious and if it crosses over to the government it should be considered with the government as a civil union.  Gays and lesbians have civil union rights in many states and if they choose that then they have made their choice.  Civil unions are the answer since many religious groups do not want "marriage" involved in the issue.

I have been a Republican for many years myself and it is time to be more inclusive in the party if it is to survive.  We are Americans and it is time to band together to save our nation from a financial collapse.  Because if our nation collapses under the weight of social welfare and bad economic policies then we all lose.

Voting is the Best Revenge

On November 2nd President Obama's reelection campaign went off script again and now the President is asking people to for vote for "revenge."  Let's first look at the definition of revenge that I reviewed it at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Revenge and it shows "Revenge is a harmful action against a person or group in response to a grievance, be it real or perceived."  The anger of the Obama campaign is now reaching its peak as revenge.  Revenge from what you may ask?  What has Mitt Romney done to Barack Obama or the American people to invoke revenge?  Seems once again President Obama is desperate to get votes so when a crowd boos Mitt Romney he has to invoke the word revenge.

President Obama has accumulated another $6 trillion in debt, unemployment rate at 7.9% for those actually counted and that number is not a real indication of show bad it really is.  That 7.9% number is a number that does not include under employeed, people that have had their unemployment benefits run out, people that took part time work, or those people that have given up looking for work.  Those are what President Obama will not touch and why would he right?  Running on his record would not get him reelected at all, but he has to use people with "revenge" as a motivation to vote for him.

President Obama has showed anger in this election along with his Vice President Joe Biden.  President Obama cannot run on Obamacare because many of the taxes and fees are about to start and he doesn't want the election to be about that accomplishment.  That is why he continues to use Big Bird, Elmo, and now revenge.  A person running from his record will try to deflect attention from what really matters.  The debt is out of control and the President is not telling us how he will get us out of it with real answers.  Saying I will cut some here and tax the rich over there is not reality.  It is playing politics as usual, but with class warfare this time.  Demonizing success is not American, but this election is about The United States of America and the future of our nation.

The future of our nation is on the line and not an angry President deflecting what the issues are.  Over 47 million people on food stamps and over 15 million of them are added on his watch.  Why does he ignore this and not address it?  He doesn't want to remind people on how he expanded the social welfare state and has no plan to get people off of food stamps and allows the USDA to continue expanding the program with more Chinese debt.  President Obama wants to have people on government assistance and if did not he would not allow it to expand this much and would have not laughed at the not so shovel ready jobs.  Spending all that money for nothing and laughing at it.  Our economy is not a joke, but this election is about revenge.  The President is out for revenge, but on who?  

Christian and Democrat

I saw this in the Lakeland Ledger newspaper in it's October 2nd, 2012 edition.  When I saw this opinion piece and it's title I just had to read it, even for it's comedic title.  I am going to give you little break down of this opinion piece because I feel this person is definitely on the wrong team in terms of political party.  Not all political parties or people are perfect, but this has to be addressed.

This person outlined why she is a Democrat even though she is a Christian.  The first bullet says she believes in what the Bible says about homosexuality and abortion.  So you believe those are wrong, but you willfully show your support for a party that actively support these practices.  This person is willing to vote for a President that once did share your belief in marriage between one man and one woman, but he all of sudden evolved his beliefs in an election year?  As for abortion the President and his Democrat Party support abortion on demand rather than practicing personal responsibility by not sleeping around and taking precautions to prevent pregnancy.  If you vote for this then you condone it because it is what they talk about and support.

Next, she believes in the Bible telling people to help those in need.  So the government should just take whatever it deems necessary to help those people it believes that are in need of your money?  This is the backwards thinking that has allowed our nation to be taxed so hard to buy the loyalty of those on welfare.  The Bible did not say for the government to take to become a forced charity and if you don't pay your forced charity gift you could end up paying fines, penalties, or even jail time.  If you truly believe in helping people then give out of the kindness of your heart and stop forcing people by taxing them.  Once again some personal responsibility would be great and also allowing non profits, charities, and churches to get involved with helping people on a local level to get them to a better place.  The government is not interested in you personally, but only filled with people ready to get power and keep it.  Local issues require local people to step up and do the right thing and get government out of it.

She also wants to talk about freedom.  I believe in freedom in our great nation so let's talk about freedom for a moment.  President Obama and the Democrats said you are going to be able to keep your doctor with Obamacare.  Many doctors are already not taking new Medicare and Medicaid insured people because the reimbursements are too low and not cost effective to keep seeing these people.  So keeping your freedom of choice for doctors is not true under that insurance plan.  Let's also talk about freedom in general.  If you have freedom to do everything then why have laws.  Supporting the Democrats freedom grab in healthcare if wrong.

If you feel the Democrats or the President are on the side of Israel you are wrong again. President Obama preferred to be on The View rather than meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The President is more concerned with keeping his power rather than meeting with the only true democracy in the Middle East.  The President is not being tough on Iran and it's leaders that have publicly said they want to wipe Israel off the map.  That is the President and the Democrats in action.

Finally, the Bible does not tell us to follow leaders that are not following principles that we do not believe in.  Many times in the Bible Christians were killed because they would not bow to false idols or false gods.  The Democrat Convention had a part where people actually "boo" God.  Really this is the party that shares your Christian beliefs?  The nanny state of providing for people that do not take responsibility for their own actions.  A party that removed God from it's platform at the start of the convention you feel shares your Christian values?  The question at the end of the day is what is the price of your freedom worth because freedom has different definitions especially with this woman in Florida.

Opt in or Opt out!

Recently the Mayor of New York City Michael Bloomberg got his wish to ban sugary drinks above 16 oz. These sugary sodas cannot be served or the restaurant can face substantial fines if they do so.  Now this is a great example of the government opting you in to their new law without you having any choice in the matter.  This is another example of the nanny state jumping in to save us from ourselves and treating New Yorker's once again as fools that cannot judge for themselves.

Now the good mayor of New York City finds it o.k. to give your daughters birth control on demand.  Now if you want to actually have control over the medications your child takes you will have to "opt out" of this program.  The irony is most schools make you sign a consent form to give your child medicine for headaches, but they will hand out birth control to your daughter's without a second thought.  You have to opt out to get control of your child's ability to get "free", which is another government handout, medication that can actually in some cases cause health problems without a parent's consent.

I just find this totally disturbing.  We do not teach our children in public schools to wait on sex at all.  We empower them with free condoms and birth control so they can run off and get some STD's or even pregnant since most children are not responsible enough to take the medication they are given behind their parents' backs anyways.  Why should we be surprised anyways right?  We have a nanny state that continues to give away our hard earned money on programs like this rather than try to teach some self control in our children's lives.

You can't get a soda from a restaurant that is over 16 oz. without possibly getting fined, but your kid can get free condoms and birth control on the taxpayer dime with no consent?  If you tired of our of control nanny state government then start to teaching your kids the right thing and vote out these controlling politicians that think you are too lazy and too stupid to take care of your own family.  I encourage you to go to the polls and send a message of we are tired of being robbed to pay for bad behavior of others and politicians this November!

My trip to the pharmacy

Unfortunately I got sick the other day so I had to take a trip to the doctor and get some prescriptions to help with my illness.  The visit to the doctor was great, very quick, and got out in just minutes!  I know that was quick!  So I got my scripts and they were sent over to the pharmacy.  I get to the pharmacy and at the counter there was another woman at the other register complaining on her phone.  She was complaining on her iPhone about her medicaid not covering a medication!

One thing about this country I cannot stand is the sense of entitlement.  People feel so entitled to having government handouts rather than taking some personal responsibility.  I didn't say anything to this woman, but in my mind I was thinking you can afford to have an iPhone, but you can't afford to pay for prescriptions.   It really makes you wonder about how our government can just take from people and give your hard earned money to others so they can live on your dime.

My wife and I work very hard to provide a good life for our daughter and have comfort in our lives.  We have full time jobs, got an education, and buy our own health insurance because we are responsible.  Responsibility is almost like a four letter word in our society.  When you tell someone to take responsibility for their actions you are looked at like you have no compassion.  Compassion is one thing, but letting people get away with wholesale theft from other people by a corrupt government using the IRS as the bully that can put you in jail, garnish wages, and charge penalties and interests if you are not on time with your tax payments that is just wrong, but people can just take your money under the force of government.  

We must get rid of the these politicians that continue this nanny state and welfare state mentality.  I am tired of working hard and taking responsibility for my family while others are just given freebies on the backs of my family and other families that do the right thing!  Vote out the corrupt power hungry politicians that are making people feel like victims to give them excuses to take our money to keep the votes coming in to keep these politicians in power!

Work Ethic...

In a nation full of welfare and entitlement I wonder sometimes where is the work ethic?  Work ethic was one of those great things that built The United States of America into the nation that people wanted to move to for a better life.  Now with have a nation of just getting by and where is the next entitlement going to come from.

Many people in this nation have decided to take the easy way out and give up and allow the government to step in and give them welfare checks, food stamps, free cell phones with free texts, and many other government supported programs.  These programs are not for free my friends.  Someone has to pay for all of the government programs and as the work ethic in our nation disappears it will be harder and harder to find someone to take their earnings to fund this type of welfare state.

Who will have the work ethic still to keep the welfare rolls going?  Will people with work ethic let it slip away because a government full of regulations and taxation keep taking other people's hard earned money? A government that continues to punish people for having a good work ethic with more taxes is going to be counter productive as some people will simply not want to move up in companies or start businesses due to the amount of red tape, regulations, fees, and taxes.

The government that we have now is a government of oppression that is so difficult to deal with that people simply give up and fall into the welfare rolls and stay there and what happens next?  Welfare becomes a generational problem.  Children and grandchildren see how people can just live on the welfare system and don't have to have any work ethic and just get paid to live.  We are allowing future generations to fall into the welfare trap.

We are a nation that was built on great work ethic and if you didn't have work ethic you did not succeed.  If you didn't work then you did not eat and you could not provide for your family.  We need work ethic and sometimes you need to give someone the "kick in the butt" they need.  The kick in the butt our nation needs is to the welfare system that we have here and allow people to keep the money they earn.  Spend the money how they see fit because they earned it and with that money in the economy people can get jobs and start contributing to our nation instead of taking it with entitlements.

God Bless our great nation in our deepest time of need for better work ethic.

Common Sense

Common sense is one of those things that is slowing becoming extinct in our society.  Once something that was used very widely in society has almost been exterminated by the government that continues to acquire power over the citizens of our great nation.

Common sense would say if I want to accumulate wealth and become financially independent I would need to make common sense decisions in my life so I can make money.  Unfortunately, common sense is not rewarded, but rather discouraged by an out of control nanny welfare state mentality in our state and nation's capitol.  You ask why is common sense dying off much like work ethic in our nation right?

Well let's look at our nation in terms of people having children they cannot support.  First, you would think "hey I can't afford kids so I better be careful."  Wrong!  Our government has created a system of giveaways for those that chose not to use common sense.  For example, let's look at W.I.C. which is government program to help mother's provide basic food for their children.  Well common sense would say in this situation if you can't even afford the basic foods and the government has to tell you what to buy then common sense is not something that is widely used in this situation.

Second, if you can't afford children you would think you would use some sort of birth control or protection in order to prevent a pregnancy that may occur because pregnancy and children occur from sex.  Unfortunately, once again people point at Planned Parenthood to help with this gap in our society that cannot use common sense, but as we can see more unwed mothers and more children in the government system.  If we continue to allow the government to be the provider and a "role model" for our children the welfare state will continue to spread and grow.

Finally, common sense if dying because we the American people are allowing it to die.  Once upon a time we would call out people that made judgement calls that were not good and either help them in our local community or get them the help they need to get back on their feet.  The American people have ignored what is going on around us and now we have an ever expanding welfare nanny state government the continues to take from the producers in order to comfort those that do not use common sense because our government steps into that role of a provider.  Once you get hooked on government handouts it then can become a generational problem.  People that grow up with it see it as a common occurrence and then get into a cycle.  The cycle of common sense not being used must stop.  It is up to all of us to make that happen.

If you Don't Vote we all Lose!

           

As a nation many Americans have continued to be frustrated with our government.  A government for that, has more many generations, promised Americans handouts and freebies through the Federal government.  Americans have been fooled for generations by a government that cannot provide for all because it is the problem.  The government is full of people that act like parents rather than adults.  The government is full of pandering politicians that raise taxes, create more regulation, borrow billions of dollars, and print money like the end will never come so they can give “their children” which are the welfare and government assistance recipients.

            Since I have talked about these things we need to look at if you don’t vote we all lose.  We all lose may be a big thing to think about.  Some people may say that I am crazy or out of line to think that the United States of America could be come a 3rd world nation because of our government’s misdeeds to buy the votes of the poor and uneducated of this nation.    The poor and uneducated are used and abused by a leftist agenda that will bus them to the polls and go to their homes to help them fill out ballots and in some cases can’t even read what they are voting for.

            This has been a systematic abuse of our system.  Our founders believed that we needed an educated electorate to keep our nation alive and away from the tyranny of the European monarchs that taxed and used the people of the colonies around the world during the 1700’s.  Our Founding Fathers wanted to make sure that we had people that to keep our country free and that is to understand what this nation is all about.  It is quite simply freedom.  The freedom to move as we please, the ability to get an education, the ability to have a good paying job and not have the government hand it out.

            If you don’t vote we all lose because we the American people do not get to say “NO” more corporate handouts.  “NO” more funding of radical groups with our tax dollars.  “NO” more handouts to the lazy.  Voters can say “YES” to people that will represent us with values and say “YES” to lower taxes so people can actually save money and not get robbed of their hard work because their actually have a job.  Voters can say “YES” to ending the welfare state that enables generations of Americans to be poor and locked into the hoods and the ghettos of our nation.

            We can vote for people that will end the promotion if you have more children the government will pay you for them.  We can vote for representatives that will end the wholesale theft of the American workers income to fund people that continue to have children that cannot afford them because they get tax breaks, food stamps, WIC, and other government assistance that keeps them lazy and voting for communists that call themselves Democrats.

            If you don’t vote we all lose because Nancy Pelosi and her communist friends will continue to make you poorer so you can be the newest recipient of your 99 week pay paid vacation through unemployment checks.  You can also become another statistic by being on welfare and food stamps because Nancy Pelosi thinks it’s good to expand it.  These are the values that liberals, progressives, communists, Marxists, socialists, and etc. believe in.  The want you poor and uneducated, but they need to be in office to accomplish their grand plans of a hammer and sickle state much like the Soviet Union.  If you think it can’t happen, just look at history.  It can happen unless you vote for real people that will stay out of the way and let us the people of this great nation work for a living and not live on the backs of the workers of this great nation.

            Please use the facts even if they are clouded by liberal agendas.  The American voter must turn out to vote at every election because all the previous ones have led our country in trillion dollar debts to the Chinese government and foreign powers that would love to see the United States of America become a failed state.  Americans must stand up and be firm with our voices united we will not be robbed to pay for other countries, companies, or people.  We must turn to our churches and local nonprofits to help people.  No more government programs means local control of local issues and it starts with your vote, so vote wisely so we can get out of this mess that has been created for generations.
